HONEY DRIPPER, by CLARENCE MAJOR Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: Little arms ripped out Subject(s): Honey | ||||||||
Little arms ripped out of their sockets, belly devoured down to the backbone while Honey was at work. How could a dog named Eddie do such a thing? Sheriff said it was her fault for not feeding the animal. Is there such a thing as food for thought? "Had no business leaving them kids alone nohow." Honey Dripper, Honey Dripper (whose legal name was Eartha Romance) had three children -- Mona Lisa Romance Paul Romance Molly Romance -- all born under morning stars and out of wedlock, and each to a different silent or lost father. One's dead and the other two they say are out there in the State's hands. Used with the permission of Copper Canyon Press, P.O.
