The old woman comes
along our fondamenta,
Tolentini,
every morning around nine,
dropping sardines
along the way with
the cats trailing her,
eating the fish. Lucky,
these cats.
Those in the Campo San Vitale
suffer
especially when the construction
workers are not working
on Ponte dell' Accademia.
And when it's finished?
It is winter, already.
