YOUNG men have all the luck! They do not know
How hard is life for each soft-hearted maid:
They've friends of their own age to whom they go
And tell their cares and worries unafraid;
They've games to play at, and can freely roam
The streets and roll their eyes at paintings bright;
While victims of our own dull thoughts at home
We're kept indoors and cut off from the light.
