STARS OF HOPE, by ELLA ALLISON First Line: The grief that comes to weary lives, alone Last Line: In stars of hope. They'll shine in pools of grief. Subject(s): Hope; Stars; Optimism | ||||||||
The grief that comes to weary lives, alone In stormy nights of gloom when love has fled, Will rise and fill the silence that has grown With words of anguish felt but never said. While swiftly falling tears may overflow As tranquil rain, a mirrored star will cheer The one who'll see through falling mist the glow Of curving distance coming faintly clear. Why live in gloom when heaven bows in prayer And touches earth and swings a light for all, Then covers pain with healing warmth of air While stars in eerie darkness seem to fall? Though looking down, acquire a new belief In stars of hope. They'll shine in pools of grief. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HOPE IS NOT FOR THE WISE by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SONNET: 9.
