TEMPEST, by ANITA CONCHITA ALLMON First Line: Black night of chaos Last Line: To them all. Subject(s): Storms | ||||||||
Black night of chaos -- Wild lightnings flash Whitely like negro eyes. Rain pelts in disordered gusts, While trees shake their branches In protest. The moon looks out on the disharmonic scene, Then disgustedly flees behind a cloud. The thunders belch forth their presence, Loudly demanding attention, And the wind shrieks a maniacal lullaby To them all. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...STORM AT HOPTIME by EDMUND CHARLES BLUNDEN THERE IS A SOLEMN WIND TONIGHT by KATHERINE MANSFIELD DEWEY AND DANCER by JOSEPHINE MILES MICHAEL IS AFRAID OF THE STORM by GWENDOLYN BROOKS BREACHING THE ROCK by MADELINE DEFREES THE CLOUDS ABOVE THE OCEAN by STEPHEN DOBYNS OF POLITICS, & ART by NORMAN DUBIE TREMENDOUS WIND AND RAIN by ANSELM HOLLO SONGS OF TRAVEL: 45.
