HAPPINESS THROUGH THE YEAR, by J. MARGARET CRUTE ASHCRAFT First Line: Give me a good book Last Line: And life seems just only begun. Subject(s): Books; Nature; Seasons; Reading | ||||||||
Give me a good book In a quiet nook, In July by a bubbling stream; When Winter is here, I'll seek for my cheer With a book by the fire and dream. But oh, in the Fall, When the foliage all Is red, orange, green, brown, and yellow, I want nothing more Than just to adore Old Nature, the jolly fellow. Then in the Spring, I just want to sing, Rejoice with the birds in the sun; For everything's new, Earth is lovely to view, And life seems just only begun. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TWO SONNETS: 1 by DAVID LEHMAN THE ILLUSTRATION?ÇÖA FOOTNOTE by DENISE LEVERTOV FALLING ASLEEP OVER THE AENEID by ROBERT LOWELL POETRY MACHINES by CATE MARVIN LENDING LIBRARY by PHYLLIS MCGINLEY |
