RAIN ON FALL NIGHTS, by
First Line: It rained the night we buried him
Last Line: Leaving some room for laughter?
Subject(s): Grief; Rain; Sorrow; Sadness

It rained the night we buried him
And many nights thereafter;
While I, tears purging my poor sould,
Knew I was done with laughter.

Last night I could not sleep at all
But vowed to be resigned hereafter . . .
Will tears soon purge, now Fall rains fall,
Leaving some room for laughter?
