LEGACY, by                    
First Line: No moonlit pearls or rubies' frozen fire
Last Line: Your simple faith showed me the light, the way.


No moonlit pearls or rubies' frozen fire,
Or the black-gold of oilwells by the sea,
Is your bequeathal—but the strong desire
To follow you through God's eternity.

No wisdom of the sages did you teach me,
No magic lore, or stoic's proud display:
Your kindly deeds stretched out like hands to reach
Your simple faith showed me the light, the way.
