A TRIBUTE TO WILL ROGERS AND WILEY POST, by
First Line: Oklahoma mourns her sons today
Last Line: To realms of greater glory.
Subject(s): Honor; Memory; Oklahoma

Oklahoma mourns her sons today,
And the nation mourns no less;
We breathe their names with reverence
And our tones bespeak distress.

One sailed the air and circled the globe
With skill and wondrous daring,
The other encircled the hearts of men
With strings that now are tearing.

Upon the crowded stage of life,
Each had made his bow,
In his chosen work he took the lead
And won laurels for his brow.

They left this life together,
And with no one to tell the story
They sailed to another land,
To realms of greater glory.
