BEYOND THE BAR, by                    
First Line: Send no one over by the way of war!
Last Line: The unknown soldier.

"Send no one over by the way of War!
We're crowded here. No room for more to come
By battlefield of earth or sky or sea.
Purge Freedom's fountain of the curse of blood
By pledge of an eternal brotherhood,
And bring our sacrifice to bloom in Peace.
Then only can we not have crossed in vain."
The dead of all the wars that were, from dawn
Of Time to Flanders Fields, thus bade me speak
And bring this message to mankind below.
Their ranks are legion in the halls above,
An untold host who gladly gave their lives
That lands they loved be held for home and right.
And do you ask why they assigned to me
This mission, out of all the millions there?
I have a hallowed tomb in every realm,
And bear a universal name that cries
For Peace in every earthly tongue. I am
The Unknown Soldier.
