SPRING COURAGE, by MADELINE BENEDICT First Line: The spring has come, and scillas blue Last Line: They stand up bravely, though they're drenched. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
The Spring has come, and scillas blue Are bravely lifting up their heads; But last night, winter came anew, And put snow blankets on their beds. It covered all the lively bloom; But see, the snow is melting now, And even in the cold and gloom Those pert, blue scillas won't allow Their strength of color to be quenched; They stand up bravely, though they're drenched. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD THE RUBAIYAT, 1879 EDITION: 68 by OMAR KHAYYAM LINES WRITTEN IN AN OVID by MATTHEW PRIOR THE CASE OF DOMINEERING JOHN ALEXIS UPHAM by FRANKLIN PIERCE ADAMS |
