SILHOUETTES, by EDNA BINTLIFF First Line: Stiff cat-tails mirrored in a pool Last Line: Is never known to me. Subject(s): African Americans - Military; Brothers; Soldiers; Half-brothers | ||||||||
Stiff cat-tails mirrored in a pool, Black soldiers in a row, And who would dream the heart of them Is soft as fallen snow? Outlined against the sunset sky Is rigid maple tree, How should we know that summer's sun Will set its sweetness free? Dark etched upon my own landscape My brother's life I see; But more than just his silhouette Is never known to me. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO L.H.B. by KATHERINE MANSFIELD SUPPLE CORD by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE BROTHERS: 1.
