AUTUMN LEAVES, by PEARL B. BLOSS First Line: Nature turned their somber green Last Line: In other things which grow. Subject(s): Autumn; Growth; Leaves; Seasons; Fall | ||||||||
Nature turned their somber green To brilliant orange and red; Then sent them off tremblingly, To go where breezes led. The wind whispered, "Come with me, Sail away on play-like wings." They laughed, then sang as off they flew, With a joy contentment brings. Fluffy rivals forced them down, Then wrapped them in woolly snow. Here they'll sleep till they wake anew In other things which grow. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...OUR AUTUMN by ELIZABETH AKERS ALLEN AN AUTUMN JOY by GEORGE ARNOLD A LEAF FALLS by MARION LOUISE BLISS THE FARMER'S BOY: AUTUMN by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD A LETTER IN OCTOBER by TED KOOSER AUTUMN EVENING by DAVID LEHMAN EVERYTHING THAT ACTS IS ACTUAL by DENISE LEVERTOV ARCHIMEDES LAST FORAY by STEPHEN VINCENT BENET |
