SMALL THINGS, by
First Line: I love small things - a little bird that sings
Last Line: A thimble on a sad-faced, lonely man.
Subject(s): Sympathy; Empathy

I love small things -- a little bird that sings;
A little child with light imaginings;
A little house set back against a hill,
A red geranium on the window sill;
The little smoke rings, curling toward the sky;
The little wistful smile -- the happy sigh.
Dear little things that warm my deepest heart!
What's this? The sympathetic teardrops start --
A little needle in a big, strong hand;
A thimble on a sad-faced, lonely man.
