Where the warm brown sands of the desert lie,
And beauty blooms in the evening sky,
The pungent sage and the whispering pines,
And romantic tales of her silver mines
Put a lilt in the veins that keeps one young
From the time life starts until 'tis done --
In Nevada.
A musician she since her days began,
And she plies her bow on the heartstrings of man;
Love is her bow and her music haunts,
(For wherever one is it's Nevada he wants,)
She is Friday's child, loving and giving
Courage and truth and a heap of living --
Nevada.
