Last Line: With golden benediction.


Flicker-flicker
Sharp blows a gust
And our little yellow blades
Stream red from side to side
And flare and fall --
While strange figures of shade and light
Dance arcross the tablecloth,
Slide over plates and urn,
Glint over fingernails,
Deepen expression,
Smooth away wrinkles,
Soften outline
And touch bowed heads
With golden benediction.
