STAR-FANCIES, by JAMES BUCKHAM First Line: Grapes of gold on silver stems Last Line: Parted from its silver stem! Alternate Author Name(s): Pastnor, Paul Subject(s): Stars | ||||||||
Grapes of gold on silver stems; Grapes of gold! Azure wine from starry gems; Azure wine! Angels sipping, as they pass, Nectar from God's flowing glass! 'T was a dream I dreamed awake, Listening to the summer lake. Twilight deepened into gloom, Lamps were lit in God's great room! Starry lamps ... yet grapes of gold, Wine and amber wicks they hold. Then an angel shook the vine; Then an angel delved the mine; And a grape ... or was't a gem?
