Out of my window the woods are a-flutter, A starchy birch nurse stalks importantly by, The patriarch oaks squeek, "Tut-tut!" and mutter, Matronly beeches nudge them and sigh. Spinsterly cedars primp envious and mocking, Dogwood gossips whisper and groan At a bright-eyed needle-pine, crooning and rocking, Parading her first young cone. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HAVING BEEN ASKED WHAT IS A MAN?
