SONGS OF THE SEA CHILDREN: 98, by BLISS CARMAN Poet's Biography First Line: Do you know the pull of the wind on the sea? Last Line: Your wonderful eyes -- forever to me. Subject(s): Eyes | ||||||||
Do you know the pull of the wind on the sea? That is the thought of you over my heart, The long soft breath of the soul drawing back to me, From the desolate lone of outer space, At dead of night when we are apart. Do you know the sound of the surf on the shore, At the lilac close of a soft spring day? That is the fairy music I hear once more, As I remember your last farewell, In the blue still night when you are away. And the wondrous round of the moon on the hill, When blue dusk covers the rim of the sea? More desired and strange and loved and lovelier still Is the vision that comes with love in her eyes -- Your wonderful eyes -- forever to me. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BANGLA DESH: 2.
