FIRES OF LOVE, by VILETA NELSON CHARTIER First Line: You lit the spark of love one day Last Line: The embers warm. Subject(s): Fire; Love - Loss Of | |||
You lit the spark of love one day Within my heart And tended it until you saw The love-flame start. And when you saw that all around It brightly burned, You turned, and wandered down the road All unconcerned. The years have passed. 'Mid charred remains New walls I form. Yet, even now, I stir and find The embers warm. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ROSE AND MURRAY by CONRAD AIKEN THOUGH WE NO LONGER POSSESS IT by MARK JARMAN THE GLORY OF THE DAY WAS IN HER FACE by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON LOVE COME AND GONE by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 33 by JAMES JOYCE A SCOTCH SONG by JOANNA BAILLIE |
