First Line: Helen wore it in her hair
Last Line: No little flower so holy anywhere!
Subject(s): Death; Flowers; Love; Man-woman Relationships; Dead, The; Male-female Relations

HELEN wore it in her hair,
That little fragile flower,
Wore it for an hour,—
Then she laughed and gave it me to wear;—
No little flower so holy anywhere!

Fate looked and found my Helen fair,—
That little fragile flower,—
Spared her but an hour;
When she died the dayspring vanished there;—
No little flower so holy anywhere!
