NATURE'S SORROW CURE, by CATHERINE CATE COBLENTZ First Line: The only thing to cheer me Last Line: Will bring him back to me. Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
The only thing to cheer me, Beneath a heavy load, The beauty that is near me, The roses in my road. A bit of new grass creeping, A butterfly of gold, The first spring bloodroot peeping Through dark and pulpy mold. When even God is hidden, Because I will not see, A swallow's call unbidden Will bring Him back to me. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
