REFLECTION, by GRACE MARY SEELEY CORYELL First Line: Leaves blown over the water Last Line: Over the water like the leaves. | |||
Leaves blown over the water By a wind after sunset Is but passing beauty. It is soon forgotten after many winds blow And the trees are left barren. Sometime, though, the water will remember The trees had some silver in them. One lovely thing will always stay with me But, for the moment, it sifted Over the water like the leaves. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...GROWING OLD by FRANCIS LEDWIDGE THE SIEGE OF VIRE by OLIVIER BASSELIN HARMONIE DU SOIR by CHARLES BAUDELAIRE THE INTREPID MARINER by WILLIAM ROSE BENET FRAGMENT WRITTEN SHORTLY AFTER THE MARRIAGE OF MISS CHAWORTH by GEORGE GORDON BYRON |
