NEW BEAUTY, by
First Line: In after time this shall be beautiful
Last Line: Come and taste here of this eternity.
Subject(s): Beauty

In after time this shall be beautiful.
It shall be sung and painted, raised upon
A plinth of years and stand as dutiful
As one more relic of a long lost eon.
New eyes shall never see from what endure
One verse, one canvas, shape of stone; and stress:
We are the zigzag line, the musculature,
Stark cube, cacophony, this ugliness.
Come, then, let us resolve from it what guise
Of loveliness we can, be first to thrust
Our living into mold. Though future wise
Choose other types than ours out of the dust,
We have life now that beauty then will be;
Come and taste here of this eternity.
