RECOMPENSE, by EVA L. CRAWFORD First Line: He said he would come to meet me Last Line: My long lost paradise. Subject(s): Faith; Belief; Creed | ||||||||
He said he would come to meet me When I came over the hill. I have grown weary of this lonely climb But I must journey on Until I reach the highest peak. Then on some fair and radiant morn From a great glorious height, I shall behold him from afar coming With welcoming outstretched arms. No longer need I fear the world's alarms So gently he will take my hand and guide my feet To where the peaceful valley lies. Then I shall know that I have found at last -- My long lost paradise. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 4 by MARK JARMAN QUIA ABSURDUM by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET TO FORTUNE by LUCY AIKEN JONATHAN EDWARDS IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS by ROBERT LOWELL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION by MINA LOY THE SHATTERED DREAM by EVA L.
