TRAILS, by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES Poet Analysis First Line: He leaves his silver trail behind Last Line: And never see their golden trails. Alternate Author Name(s): Davies, W. H. Subject(s): Roads; Paths; Trails | ||||||||
He leaves his silver trail behind, But has no silver on his way; His path is rough, and sometimes dark, And troubles come by night and day: Slowly he moves this humble snail And never sees his silver trail. So, men who give us golden lines Have written them in blood and sweat, Time never turns a thought to gold, Unless a tear has made it wet: They suffer like these humble snails And never see their golden trails. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HE FINDS THE MANSION by JAMES MCMICHAEL BY DIFFERENT PATHS by MARVIN BELL DRIVING HOME by MADELINE DEFREES ART IS PARALLEL TO NATURE by CLARENCE MAJOR HIGHWAY 2, ILLINOIS by LISEL MUELLER A BIRD'S ANGER by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES |
