AS I DID ROVE, by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: As I did rove in blinded night Last Line: A 'wildered bird. Alternate Author Name(s): Ramal, Walter; De La Mare, Walter | ||||||||
As I did rove in blinded night, Raying the sward, in slender ring, A cirque I saw whose crystal light Tranced my despair with glittering. Slender its gold; in hues of dream Its jewels burned, smiting my eyes Like wings that flit about the stream That waters Paradise. Sorrow broke in my heart to see A thing so lovely; and I heard Cry from its dark security A 'wildered bird. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ALONE (2) by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE AN EPITAPH by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE ARABIA by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE BUNCHES OF GRAPES by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE ECHO by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE ENGLAND (2) by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE FARE WELL by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE FIVE EYES by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE JOHN MOULDY by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE MOTLEY by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE |
