FULL MOON, by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: One night as dick lay fast asleep Last Line: She vanished, and was gone. Alternate Author Name(s): Ramal, Walter; De La Mare, Walter Subject(s): Moon | ||||||||
One night as Dick lay fast asleep, Into his drowsy eyes A great still light began to creep From out the silent skies. It was the lovely moon's, for when He raised his dreamy head, Her surge of silver filled the pane And streamed across his bed. So, for awhile, each gazed at each -- Dick and the solemn moon -- Till, climbing slowly on her way, She vanished, and was gone. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...POEM TO TAKE BACK THE NIGHT by JUNE JORDAN THE MOON AND THE SPECTATOR by LEONIE ADAMS FULL MOON by KARLE WILSON BAKER NO MORE OF THE MOON by MORRIS GILBERT BISHOP THE DEPARTURE by DENISE LEVERTOV THE MOON IN GREECE by TIMOTHY LIU ALL THAT'S PAST by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE |
