Out of the darkness -- a light. Out of the silence -- a voice. Out of despair -- a soul Unfaltering to its goal. Unconquerably the bright Spirit asserts its choice, Bids the clogged body wait And dominates its fate. But deeper than all, the heart, Quick to feel others' pain, Ignores its manacles, And lives in mankind's ills.
