IN JAMAICA, by J. P. DENISON First Line: The wintry winds are never drear Last Line: In far-away jamaica, o. | |||
THE wintry winds are never drear In balmy old Jamaica, O. The biting cold they never fear In tropical Jamaica, O. But flowers are ever fresh and fair, A gentle fragrance fills the air, And all the year is summer there In sunny old Jamaica, O. And so 't is ever bright and gay In happy old Jamaica, O. The world is all a summer's day In dreamy old Jamaica, O. The sun is shining rays of gold, And Nature's smiles are manifold; And only Margaret's heart 1s cold In far-away Jamaica, O. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE KISS by WALTER SAVAGE LANDOR ADDRESS TO A STEAM-VESSEL by JOANNA BAILLIE THE SECOND COVENANT by WILLIAM ROSE BENET TREES IN AUTUMN by ANNE MILLAY BREMER THE WEAKEST THING by ELIZABETH BARRETT BROWNING REPLY TO A NOTE FROM CAPTAIN RIDDEL by ROBERT BURNS IF I WERE YOU by CARRIE BURRINGTON |
