RHAPSODY, by RENE ALBOURNE DEPENDER First Line: A kin am I this hour to winds that sing Last Line: One is my soul with life, and life goes on. Subject(s): Life; Soul | ||||||||
A kin am I this hour to winds that sing Their rondeaus high above the things of earth, One is my spirit with the sun and moon, And that far place where planets find their birth. Glory of dawn, and wonder of the sea, All in their ecstacy abide in me. Pain never was, and grief can never touch This exaltation that my soul has found, Darkness is not for love's white flame of light In radiant glory, wraps my spirit 'round. There is no time, past days are lost and gone, One is my soul with life, and life goes on. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE CRUEL FALCON by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE WHOLE SOUL by PHILIP LEVINE I KNOW MY SOUL by CLAUDE MCKAY HONORING THE SAND; IN MEMORY OF JOSEPH CAMPBELL by ROBERT BLY THE CHINESE PEAKS; FOR DONALD HALL by ROBERT BLY THE LIFE OF TOWNS: TOWN OF THE EXHUMATION by ANNE CARSON JOY (1) by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON |
