God will not change! The restless years may bring Sunlight and shadethe glories of the Spring, The silent gloom of sunless Winter hours; Joy mixed with griefsharp thorns with fragrant flowers. Earth's lights may shine a while and then grow dim. But God is true! There is no change in Him. Rest in the Lord today and all thy days Let His unerring hand direct thy ways Through the uncertainty, and hope and fear, That meet thee on the threshold of the year; And find while all life's changing scenes pass by Thy refuge in the love that can not die. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MYSTIC BOUNCE by TERRANCE HAYES MATHEMATICS CONSIDERED AS A VICE by ANTHONY HECHT UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN SHINE, PERISHING REPUBLIC by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE COMING OF THE PLAGUE by WELDON KEES A LITHUANIAN ELEGY by ROBERT KELLY ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE, MY LITTLE ONE' by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON |
