SPRING MAGIC, by AMY BISSETT ENGLAND First Line: Spring magic always comes on wings of song Last Line: And chase, while april smiles and sets the pace. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
Spring magic always comes on wings of song Plucked from the heart-strings of an April day, When flower-jewels, laid away so long, Adorn the earth once more, and green leaves sway To rhythm of bird-serenades that rise In silvery ripples, filling all the land With melodies of love. Our eager eyes Behold Daffodil April's lovely hand Join sun and rain in games of hide-and-seek, Or clasp a dewdrop necklace on the lawn. Wind-voices hum a lullaby, then speak Such gay commands that soon the hats are gone Pirouetting down the street, and people race And chase, while April smiles and sets the pace. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
