Ye who mourn Weep not for the dead in flesh Who live on in spirit. Lament Let fall your tears, For the dead in spirit Who live on in flesh. Lonely, desolate, bereft, Treading away the years Unlovely and unloved, As they who lose faith in man... And God! Ghosts of flesh Haunting the highways of life; Seeking, and never finding The road to Release. Ye who mourn Weep not for the living Dead. Lament Weep in anguish ... for the dead Living. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HUNGERFIELD by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE MOURNER by LOUISE MOREY BOWMAN HECUBA MOURNS by MARILYN NELSON THERE IS NO GOD BUT by AGHA SHAHID ALI IF I COULD MOURN LIKE A MOURNING DOVE by FRANK BIDART |
