LIFE, by
First Line: I drift along the tide of life
Last Line: And cries, then silence stills them all.
Subject(s): Life

I drift along the tide of life,
It flows and ebbs and so do I.
At times the waves run shallow-wise
And carry me near empty shores.
Again, they bound to fury's height
And sing with other worlds of things --
The air, the skies, the sun, the moon,
The stars and night -- eternal tunes.
The rush, then calm, the light, then dark,
Like notes on life's harp, harmonize.
One floats awhile, then vanishes;
One flourishes, then fades away.
Life's spell is spent midst laughs and sighs
And cries, then silence stills them all.
