TO NATURE, by EMMA O. FINNEY First Line: When I look into your eyes Last Line: God dwells. | |||
When I look into your eyes, I feel the mystic, dreamy, subtle charm Of a wonder world. I sense the muse of the woodland nymphs, The moods and ecstasies of angel realms, And the delight of busy fairy hands. I see love clothed in radiant forms, Myriad-colored cloaks of celestial splendor -- Shining garbs of true realities Untouched by man's much thinking; While the softer tones of your winged lyre Border in pastel shades a path you've made To the ever-flowing fount of truth, Of wisdom, and of life abundant, free -- Beckoning me on to quaff Of the naked bliss of eternity, Where in His fullness God dwells. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SYMPATHY by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON PRAYER AT SUNRISE by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON THE DREAM by GEORGE GORDON BYRON MODERN LOVE: 50 by GEORGE MEREDITH |
