SAND & SPRAY: SEA-SYMPHONY. 2. VARIATIONS: 6. NIGHT OF STARS, by JOHN GOULD FLETCHER Poet's Biography First Line: The sky immense, bejewelled with rain of stars Last Line: Crashes down the sky. Subject(s): Stars | ||||||||
Allegro brillante The sky immense, bejewelled with rain of stars, Hangs over us: The stars like a sudden explosion powder the zenith With green and gold; North-east, south-west the Milky Way's pale streamers Flash past in flame; The sky is a swirling cataract Of fire, on high. Over us the sky up to the zenith Palpitates with tense glitter: About our keel the foam bubbles and curdles In phosphorescent joy. Flame boils up to meet down-rushing flame In the blue stillness. Aloft a single orange meteor Crashes down the sky. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE EPIC STARS by ROBINSON JEFFERS HYMN TO THE STARS by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS CHRISTMAS TREE by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS CLEMATIS MONTANA by MADELINE DEFREES THE UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE by JAMES GALVIN TO SEE THE STARS IN DAYLIGHT by JAMES GALVIN ARIZONA POEMS: 2.
