THE WALL, by MARGARET FRASER First Line: The stiffened brain is reeling Last Line: Seven times round. | |||
The stiffened brain is reeling With pushing against the blood That being thickened with feeling, Is rigid as wood. The blood is an obstinate wall: Resisting sudden shock, Resisting gradual pull, It stands like rock. The walls of Jericho Once melted to the ground. The steady brain must go Seven times round. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO MY HORIZONS by MARGARET FRASER TO THE POET IN AUTUMN by MARGARET FRASER NIGHT AND DAY: 2 by ISAAC ROSENBERG THE SONG OF THE INGENUES by PAUL VERLAINE THE SCHOLAR GIPSY by MATTHEW ARNOLD THE QUILTING by PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR TO DAISIES, NOT TO SHUT TOO SOON by ROBERT HERRICK THE SEA AND THE SKYLARK by GERARD MANLEY HOPKINS SONNET UPON HISTORIE OF GEORGE CASTRIOT, ALIAS SCANDERBERG by EDMUND SPENSER |
