A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN, by KATHARINE GORDON GABELL First Line: A little bit of heaven Last Line: Is sent to earth below! Subject(s): Good; Heaven; Paradise | ||||||||
A little bit of heaven Comes earthward every day, And you will sense its presence When it comes along your way, If your thoughts are pure and wholesome And your heart is full of love, And you're glad that you are living, And that there's a God above. A little bit of heaven Can be seen the whole day through From early dawn till nightfall In the kind acts that we do. Just an impulse put in action To do something for man's good, Adds another stone so noble To the shrine of brotherhood. A little bit of heaven Comes to us in song of bird, In the babbling brook's sweet music, Or a kindly, spoken word, In a friendly smile or handclasp; Oh, how wonderful to know That a little bit of heaven Is sent to earth below! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE END OF LIFE by PHILIP JAMES BAILEY SEVEN TWILIGHTS: 6 by CONRAD AIKEN THE BOOK OF THE DEAD MAN (#19): 2.
