PANIC, by LOUIS GINSBERG First Line: What causes all this sudden tumult, running Last Line: What causes all this panic? It is you. Subject(s): Self | ||||||||
What causes all this sudden tumult, running Along the shaken city of my soul, As if an army menaces with cunning, While drums of doom their muffled warning roll? And all this trepidation has the sound Of many startled towers slowly tumbling; Of walls capitulating to the ground; Of bulwarks splintering and ramparts crumbling; Of many sighing flags and banners falling; Of wild, confused alarms of countless feet; Of wounded buglers frantically calling Stampeding garrisons to quick retreat Before invincible powers that pursue -- What causes all this panic? It is you. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A CAPELLA by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA AFTER LOOKING UP INTO ONE TOO MANY CAMERAS by HICOK.
