Simone, white as your neck is the snow I see,
Simone, the snow is white as your knee.
Simone, your hand is cold as the snow,
Simone, your heart is cold as the snow.
The snow melts only in the fire's kiss,
Your heart melts only at a farewell kiss.
The snow is sad upon pine branches there,
Your brow is sad beneath your auburn hair.
