THE COMING OF THE STORM. TWO PICTURES: 1, by CORNELIA ELIZABETH GREEN First Line: The far off clouds are one dark purple mass Last Line: In yellow splendor on the river grass. Subject(s): Storms; Wellesley College | ||||||||
THE far off clouds are one dark purple mass Reflected darker in the stream near by; Between, are willows light against the sky And pointing downward in the stream's clear glass. The sun's last rays are powerless to pass Into that cloud-heap dense, but, ere they die, Gild gently the pale willow leaves, and lie In yellow splendor on the river grass. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LINES WRITTEN TO A TRANSLATOR OF GREEK POETRY by MARGARET STEELE ANDERSON THE LESSER BEAUTY by MARGARET STEELE ANDERSON WORK by MARGARET STEELE ANDERSON IN MEMORY: MISS JEWETT by GRACE ALLERTON ANDREWS HERE ENTER NOT by KATHARINE CANBY BALDERSTON I CLEANED MY HOUSE TODAY by KATHARINE CANBY BALDERSTON MY GARDEN by KATHARINE CANBY BALDERSTON THE COMING OF THE STORM.
