Inspired music, language of the spheres, ineffable,
Caught only in fragments of a measured length,
When we poor mortals are attuned to hear
The mystic beauty, a twin to pain.
As hard to capture as the thought of all eternity,
Or of vast spaces, empty of all worlds.
How it does echo in our hearts
And lift us up toward God.
