A NEW DAY, by                    
First Line: I thank thee, lord, for this new day
Last Line: To save the world and set it free.

I thank Thee, Lord, for this new day;
For help and strength I now do pray;
Each day's a gift from One above,
In which to tell of His great love.

In this new day I'll take some time
For prayer and worship to the Divine;
The moments spent at Thy dear feet
Give strength and courage and not defeat.

Of all the days, today's the day
To drive the gloom and care away;
So help me speak some words of cheer
And brighten the life of someone near.

Souls will perish in this wide land
Without Thy great protecting hand.
We thank Thee, Lord, for tender care;
It's broad enough for everywhere.

And yet, we find many a heart
Where the Word of God is not a part;
So help me now Thy word to send
To my brother, sister, and friend.

Of all the things I undertake,
I'll work this day for Jesus' sake,
The One who died on Calvary
To save the world and set it free.
