SATISFIED, by FAY GOODE HARING First Line: As long as I can watch the blue Last Line: And I am satisfied. Subject(s): Life | ||||||||
As long as I can watch the blue In Heaven's vaulted sky, And muse upon the fleecy clouds That float serenely by, My heart forgets to grieve and sigh, I know that love is ever nigh, And I am satisfied. As long as Spring returns again And wakes the world from sleep, When every hillside bursts in bloom, My ever care is buried deep, I quite forget to sigh and weep, The flowers from winter quarters peep, And I am satisfied. As long as little children run To greet me with a kiss, Telling me of all their plans That others seem to miss, My heart is filled with deepest bliss, For life consists of things like this, And I am satisfied. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PRIVILEGE OF BEING by ROBERT HASS SEAWATER STIFFENS CLOTH by JANE HIRSHFIELD SAYING YES TO LIVING by DAVID IGNATOW THE WORLD IS SO DIFFICULT TO GIVE UP by DAVID IGNATOW |
