Death walked in on silent feet
And took you from me.
Death asks no pardon.
All that's left for me is
The memory of you
In my heart's garden.
These tears I cannot stay
For I am lonesome.

If I'd left you, as you have
Me -- you would understand!
Long years we were together.
Always I could feel the touch
Of your dear hand.

I cannot see a tomorrow.
I lack vision, I have no goal...
Living, you possessed my body --
Dead -- you possess my soul!
