"WHY, old Uncle Abe, if your tidings are true,
An era of progress is dawning for you.
They were plowing you say, without horse or man?
The world is advancing as fast as it can!

"No horny hands holding the plow will be found,
No 'gee up' and 'haw there,' in tilling the ground—
A motor electric, to furrow the land,
An underground current, as I understand."

"Why, boss, sir, I t'inks you has made er mistake.
Plowin' like dat, sir, would sho' take de cake;
But you's wrong in yore 'clusions,—I seed it, you know,—
Twas er ox an' er 'oman dat made de plow go."
