UP NATURE'S STEPS, by
First Line: This life, up nature's steps, mounts on and on
Last Line: Who answered prayer, and helped man as he grew.
Subject(s): Creation

The Creator speaks: "O Son of Man! I knew My love for thee; therefore I
created thee, have engraved on thee Mine image and revealed to thee My beauty .
. ."
-- Hidden Words, by BAHA'U'LLAH

This life, up Nature's steps, mounts on and on
And on: mineral, plant, animal, man --
The last creation knowing pain, until
God grants his hidden, inmost orison
Of spirit; graciously gives forth His Plan
Of Heaven's endless mirroring, on still
Clear lakes of meditation -- grief thus gone;
Replaced by guidance from that Image-Man,
Glory of God and manifested Will --
This bird, with "wings all broken," is wafted on
To Gardens by obeying blessed; now can
Approach their guarded, sweet gladness; and thrill
At songs of reverence for God, Who knew;
Who answered prayer, and helped man as he grew.
