THE SONG AND THE SINGER, by CLARENCE L. HAYNIE First Line: The song and the singer are one Last Line: When the singer is one with death. Subject(s): Singing & Singers; Songs | ||||||||
The song and the singer are one, For each without each is mute; As the moon is enslaved to the sun, Dependent as viol and flute. The song and the singer give voice To flowers, and wind, and rain; And the hearts that once sorrowed rejoice, In beauty that songs bring again. The song and the singer shall give To beauty an endless breath; For the song may continue to live, When the singer is one with death. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE APOLLO TRIO by CONRAD AIKEN BAD GIRL SINGING by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 4 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 5 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE IS LIKE THE SCENT OF SYRINGA by MINA LOY GOTHIC CATHEDRAL by CLARENCE L.
