SONG, by VICTOR MARIE HUGO Poet's Biography First Line: Toward your scented garden, sweet Last Line: With love's own wings. | ||||||||
TOWARD your scented garden, Sweet, Would flutter all my linkéd words, If with soft wings my rhymes might beat The air like birds. Like sparks along an airy path Your happy home they'd haste to find, Had they but wings for flight as hath The wingéd mind. By night, by day, still true to you, They'd fly with eager winnowings, If but my limping verses flew With Love's own wings. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A NEW SONG TO AN OLD TUNE by VICTOR MARIE HUGO A NIGHT IN JUNE by VICTOR MARIE HUGO A UN PASSANT by VICTOR MARIE HUGO A UNE FEMME by VICTOR MARIE HUGO AFTER THE BATTLE by VICTOR MARIE HUGO AN EVENING SCENE by VICTOR MARIE HUGO AN OLD SONG OF A YOUTHFUL TIME by VICTOR MARIE HUGO CHILDHOOD by VICTOR MARIE HUGO |
